CSX (Computer Sanskrit eXtended) is a simple definition of an 8-bit character set suitable for the display and interchange of Sanskrit texts in romanized transliteration. It defines characters like "s acute" and a character code for each such character. The scheme was agreed at an informal meeting of interested Sanskritists at a side-meeting during the Vienna meeting of the International Association of Sanskrit Studies (IASS) a few years ago. This directory contains a description of the CSX character coding scheme. DW Sept 1995.
